SCHOOL SAFETY ISSUE

Dear Parents,

This letter is to inform you of an incident that I became aware of this evening (Wednesday), and to reassure you about the measures taken to address the situation promptly and effectively. Late Wednesday evening, the Elwood Police Department received information of a message sent by an Elwood student to another student threatening violence against members of the Elwood School community.  The Elwood Police Department informed school administration and began investigating the threat immediately.

I want to assure you that while the investigation is still ongoing, the individual responsible for the threat has been identified, and appropriate disciplinary measures are being taken. The swift and collaborative response between the school and law enforcement ensured that our campus remains secure and safe.

I recommend that you remind your children that any threat made will be thoroughly investigated and the consequences of their actions may be severe.  Also, please emphasize to them the importance of letting a staff member know anytime they have any concerns or hear about threats so that we may better insure the safety of our community.  In this way, we are all working together to keep our school safe.

 Sincerely,

 Tim Page
